This Privacy Policy explains how eSchools ("we", "us", "the App") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the eSchools mobile application and related web services. eSchools is a school management platform used by schools to manage students, staff, fees, attendance, exams, and communication. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

• Account information — name, email address, phone number, role (student, parent, teacher, staff, or administrator), and login credentials.
• School & academic data — information entered by your school, such as student profiles, classes, attendance records, exam results, fee records, timetables, and notices. This data belongs to your school; we process it on the school's behalf.
• Device & push notification data — a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration token and basic device name, used solely to deliver push notifications to your device.
• Usage information — basic technical data such as app version and error logs, used to keep the service reliable.
• Payment information — when fees are paid online, payments are processed by our payment gateway. We do not store full card numbers; payment is handled by the gateway provider.

2. How We Use Information

• To provide and operate the school management features you and your school use.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To send push notifications (e.g., announcements, fee reminders, attendance alerts) that your school sends to you.
• To process fee payments initiated by you.
• To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service.

3. Push Notifications

The App uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications. Your device's FCM token is stored only to send you these notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings; the token is removed when you log out or uninstall the App.

4. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to operate the service:

• Your school — your data is accessible to the school that administers your account.
• Google Firebase — to deliver push notifications.
• Payment gateway — to process online fee payments you initiate.
• Hosting & infrastructure providers — to securely store and serve data.
• Legal requirements — where required by applicable law.

5. Children's Privacy

eSchools is used by schools, and some users (students) may be minors. Student accounts are created and managed by the school, not by children directly. We process student information solely to provide the educational service to the school and do not use it for advertising or profiling.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal and school data for as long as the school maintains an active account, or as required to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. When a school closes its account, associated data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and isolated per-school databases — to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

8. Your Rights & Account Deletion

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Most data is managed by your school, so requests are usually handled through your school administrator. To request deletion of your account or personal data, contact us using the details below or your school administrator, and we will process the request in accordance with applicable law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
